Making our city a more livable place

Cleanliness drive ''Nirmal Gujarat,'' launched by Chief Minister Narendra Modi, aims to cover all Urban areas in Gujarat before the monsoon sets in.

Giving details of the drive, Urban Development Minister  said ''The drive to be launched from May 25 to June 10, aims to eradicate solid waste before the monsoon in the state. The government has granted Rs 2 crore for this, of which Rs 1.50 lakh would be spent on A-class municipalities, Rs 1.25 lakh on B-class municipalities and Rs 1.16 lakh on C and D class municipalities.'' ''During this drive, our efforts would be to spread awareness among people on cleanliness. Before monsoon sets in, we would instal JCB machine to stop water-logging,'' he said.
